The dry stone construction technique is Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The dry stone constructions available in the area, stand out for their specificity, great historical value and be an authentic identity reference in many territories where they predominate, with which you can make all kinds of constructions, walls, huts, wells, lime kilns… given the great potential of this element. Over the centuries, they have shaped valuable agricultural and livestock landscapes dominated above all by olive, vine, almond and cereals, fully adapted to the soil and climate.

  • Barraca de Forcadell: The first one that we find during the route is located in the departure of Tosses. It has a false dome cover and although it presents a state of degradation imported by the plundering of the stone, its recovery is possible.
  • Barraques de Favaret: At this point are located a set of four dry stone barracks.
  • Barraca de l’Ametller: This hut was restored by the Amposta City Council in 2007. This particular one, has extensive dimensions and is considered the largest within the typology of a single ship in the province of Tarragona. It is part of the historical, artistic and architectural heritage of Amposta.
