FAMILY HOLIDAYS IN THE EBRO DELTA

MOMENTS TO ENJOY WITH CHILDREN

We present 3 proposals for doing in family

A day to taste the Delta

If you only have one day to enjoy our territory, we make some recommendations for you to make the most of your stay.

To start we recommend you visit us at the Tourist Office, where we will inform you of everything and you can take support material (maps, brochures), it is also the best starting point to go and discover Amposta and the Ebro delta.

One of the most interesting entry points to the Patural Park is La Casa de Fusta in the Encanyissada lagoon, then continue along the Poble Nou del Delta in the direction of the Trabucador, and on the way back we will pass through the Playa de los Eucaliptus towards Sant Jaume d’Enveja

In the afternoon we recommend doing some family activity, such as a tourist cruise on the Ebro River, departing from Deltebre or Riumar, which sails along the last stretch of the river to end up at the mouth and show us the wonders up close from the Island of Buda.

Three days to experience the river and the sea

If you have a long weekend, we extend our proposals. Of course, you can start by visiting us at the Tourist Office, where we will inform you of all the possibilities to enjoy such a privileged environment as the Ebro delta and you can take support material.

You can dedicate the first day to make a first approach to the Delta as we explained in the previous section. We also recommend a day of family activities with any of the tourist activities companies: Món Natura, Deltaventur or El Mas de la Cuixota, which will offer you workshops and activities as different as kayaking down the Ebro river, rowing with a boat or fishing with traditional and centennial methods.

We also propose you to visit the mussel breeding sites of the Bahía dels  Alfacs and Bahía del Fangar. There are several companies that offer guided tour service with typical seafood tasting and, if you wish, you can stay for lunch: it will be an experience you will not forget!

A week to go into the Ebro Lands

If you have decided to stay in the area for about a week, you are very lucky! You can enjoy the Ebro delta, the Natural Park of the Ports and the rest of the municipalities that surround these protected natural spaces. To begin you can visit us at the Tourist Office, where we will inform you of everything before undertaking the adventure.

To the previous proposals we added some very interesting to do in a radius of 20 to 30 km from Amposta and the Delta.

You can practice horseback riding  at the Carlos Cid equestrian center or at the Frisians de la Cruz equestrian center.

You can visit Temps de Terra, in the Cabiscol Valley, an ecological and sustainable agricultural and livestock farm, where you can eat and carry out activities in the family with horses and different animals.

Discover the Caves of Wonders in Benifallet, where in addition to the classic stalactites and stalagmites, in the cavity there is a large number of other formations of varied structure that seem to disobey the law of gravity.

Visit the Moleta del Remei (Alcanar), an ancient Iberian settlement inhabited from the 7th century BC to the 1st century BC, an interesting typological sample in terms of its functionality and its constructive characteristics. Together with the Interpretation Center of the Iberians Casa O’Connor and the route through the old urban center of Alcanar, they make up a day of family activities with the most complete program.

To finish we suggest you to visit a city of as much historical importance as Tortosa was. The Cathedral, the Royal Colleges, the Interpretation Center of the Renaissance, the Prince’s Gardens or the Castle of the Suda, are just samples of the incredible artistic, historical and cultural heritage that you will find in this city.
