Useful information

The Catalan Secretary General for Sports, Ivan Tibau, inaugurated this Olympic rowing centre, an infrastructure that has benefited from a considerable investment by the Government, with the intention of giving new impetus to Catalan rowing for it to continue growing. The centre will provide services to the Amposta Yacht Club and is part of the Terres de l’Ebre High Performance Training Centre.

This rowing centre is a new instrument to take Catalan high performance sport up another notch, and particularly to help young people who are training in a sport as demanding as rowing to move forward in their preparation.

Services for ARC (High Performance in Sport for Catalonia) athletes

The rowing centre will provide services to the Amposta Yacht Club and is also part of the Terres de l’Ebre High Performance Training Centre. The new building, which is near the old one, is more modern and boasts better facilities, which the 20 athletes from the Rowing Federation—who hold ARC (High Performance in Sport for Catalonia) scholarships from the Government and are undergoing high performance training in this centre—can make the most of. The Amposta Rowing Centre is a stepping stone to gaining entry to the High Performance Training Center for Rowing in Banyoles, which takes in athletes who reach the highest level of this sport.
