For the people of Camarles, it was essential to recover the old mill of the town’s cooperative, preserve it and restore it in order to pay tribute to the people who have worked the lands in the Delta for many decades until today.
In 2016, the Rice Interpretation Centre in Camarles was established as a centre for the dissemination of the history of rice cultivation in the Delta, where it is possible to discover the roots and traditions tied to this cereal, as well as all the hard work and effort put in throughout these years.
The centre invites you to enjoy a spot with an excellent geographical location, amidst rice fields and non-irrigated crops. The building pays tribute to all the people who, with the help of pack animals, have made the Delta what it is today.
