River Ebro
To jump group of several linksThe Ebro is the river that gives the Iberian Peninsula its name. The silt carried down by the Ebro and its many tributaries gradually formed the Ebro Delta over thousands of years.
The lower reaches of this river witnessed the coming and going of civilisations from Iberian and Roman times right up to the Middle Ages, providing an important means of communication and transport up to the mid-19th century.
Passing through Amposta, the Ebro offers the opportunity to enjoy a range of activities. Boat trips and water sports are offered from the river port in the city down to the river mouth and from Amposta to Tortosa and Miravet. Near the quay are Amposta Tourist Information Office and a service area (toilets and showers).
