The route stars at the Casa de Fusta (km0) and continues along l'Encanyissada cycle trak. The dominant vegetation on this initialo stretch is the common reed ( Pragmites australis), a plant aroind from which the reservoir gets its name. At the end of the track (km 3.7), turn left at a regular pasture for bulls and ride along an earth track thaht leads to the real that joins Sant Carles de la Rapita to Poblenou del Delta. To avoid the road, turn left again (km 7.4) just 150 m before reaching it and continue along an earth track thjat ends immediatelu opposite the Canal os Sant Pere. There is no option at this point but to take thje road for 500 m. From here La Pantera, a funnel-shaped fishing facility can be observed. Continue very carefully onwards for some 250 m to another earth track that emerfes on the left-hand side and runs parallel to L'Encanyissada. This track leads to Poblenou (km11.1). At this point there are two options: to go back to the Casa de Fusta (2.7 km away) or to continue along the route.
Flot those who continue, ride grat care along the road that joins El Poblenou to La Barra del Trabucador (see suggestion)- Rice fields, in wich Cattle egret (Bubuclus ibis) constantly search for food, run continuously alongside on the left while the bay of El Alfacs lies a little further ahead on the rigt. On the last stretch, the old saltpans of Sant Antoni can be seen. Just before the beach a road emerges on the left (km 16'3). This leads of La tAncada viewpoint, a place from which to observe the reservoir's fauna, particulary Flamingos (Phoenicopterus roseus), Mallars ducks (Anas platyrhynchos) and Great crested grebes ( Podiceos cristatus). This is the right moment to have a rest. Continue some 600 m. to the byclicle track that runs alongside La Tancada. There is now a change of vegetation and glasswort (Arthorcemum fructicosum), a plant adapted to saline soils, dominates the landscape.
When the track ends (km 21.7), continues straight on for one km along a country track until this meets the road that runs parallel to a large earth canal. Turn right (km 23.2). The bridge lies 700 m ahead. Take a left turning at this point to head back to the starting point.
